Project Profile

knexsis will provide knowledge exchange system services for online communities. It was generated in the strong belief that online communities are the greatest driving forces of the Internet.

The idea for developing a new Virtual Community Management platform came in the summer of 2000 when the core team of project  knexsis realized that existing online community tools were ill-adapted to the reality of business-to-business environment.

The then famous "knowledge exchanges" in particular, disregarded some of the basic operating tenets of the business world:

In a business environment, sharing knowledge is a high impact activity, which needs to be addressed within closed communities of authenticated individuals and with respect for Intellectual Property.
Communities of practices emerge from carefully designed online communities when the community leader is able to establish a high level of trust between community members
Knowledge-sharing activities must comply with existing business processes and organizations

The Kn-Net™ VCM platform was designed to provides corporate teams with the most efficient and effective way to build and manage a network of outside contributors to learn from, within their organization and among their business partners.

Kn-Net™ is currently developed as an eBusiness project at Schneider Electric. It is now in its prototype phase, and runs on two pilot projects.
